    Financial Information Society

     

    Benefits of Membership in the Financial Information Society

    • The opportunity to meet and interact with other students interested in accounting and finance.
    • The ability to participate (as guests) in CWRU Beta Alpha Psi events, competitions, trips, and opportunities.
    • The opportunity to meet and interact with other members of the accounting profession through BAP sponsored social activities, visits to firms, etc. The CWRU Financial Information  Society has ongoing interaction with accounting professionals from:
      • Public Accounting (CPA) and Finance firms
      • Corporate Accounting
      • Government
      • Professional societies 
    • The opportunity to learn more about accounting and the accounting profession through the Beta Alpha Psi weekly social and technical meetings and other Beta Alpha Psi sponsored events.

    Become a Member of the Financial Information Society

    Qualify

    Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or information systems/technology (or strong interest in these fields), with at least a sophomore standing.

    • Maintains a 3.0+ overall GPA
    • Obtain at least a B in a ACCT or BAFI 300+ Course

    Normally occur during our end of semester celebrations

    Membership and Continuation

    To remain in good standing per semester:

    • Complete at minimum 6 service hours*
    • Attend at min. 6 professional chapter meetings
    *You can report up to 5 non-BAP service hours
  • join bAP As a Financial Information Society Member

    All students first join Beta Alpha Psi as a Financial Information Society Member. From there, you may qualify to be initiated as a Full Member.

      We also track your participation and use that in our decision to initiate you as a full member in the future.
